Attorney Sarah Zwach earned a B.A. in sociology and legal studies, along with a certificate in criminal justice, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Sarah graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School with a concentration in criminal law. During law school, Sarah completed a clinical internship in the Frank J. Remington Center with the Restorative Justice Project. She was also the Student Chapter President of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Sarah also competed in moot court and mock trial. Sarah authored the article “Disproportionate Use of Deadly Force on Unarmed Minority Males: How Gender and Racial Perceptions Can be Remedied,” which was published in the Fall 2015 issue of the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender and Society. Upon graduation, Sarah received Pro Bono Honors and received the Bruce F. Beilfuss Memorial Award for outstanding service to the law school.
After law school, Sarah worked at the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office as a special prosecutor. Sarah then transitioned to criminal defense and became managing partner of Gamino Law Offices in 2018. In 2022, Sarah was awarded the Berkos Award by the Wisconsin State Public Defenders office for her outstanding work in indigent defense.
JB earned his undergraduate and juris doctorate degrees from Marquette University. While attending law school, he served as an Articles Editor on the Marquette University Law School Law Review.
Attorney Bastien has handled corporate transactions, real estate, and insurance defense matters but his passion has always been criminal defense. He is a vigorous trial attorney who takes cases to trial on a regular basis, with good results.
As a lifelong Milwaukee resident, JB enjoys cheering on every Wisconsin sports team but is most loyal to Marquette basketball. On weekends when Wisconsin weather permits, he enjoys golfing with friends and family.
Zachary graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School with a concentration in Constitutional Law in 2023. While at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Zachary completed a clinical internship in the Frank J. Remington Center with the Constitutional Appeals and Sentencing Project. He focused his passion on ensuring equitable justice for all by researching to assist a law professor whose area of expertise included consent clauses in government housing, and coaching an international human rights mock trial team.
Zachary speaks several languages, fluently. While in law school, Zachary tutored German international law students in constitutional, and choice-of-law sessions, and was elected Vice President to both Wisconsin-Madison Law School’s Student Bar Association and Middle Eastern Law Student Association. He has represented debtor clients in Bankruptcy Court as a student-attorney, but is fortunate to return to his chosen career path focusing on criminal defense.
Zachary is an avid soccer player and gardener, and enjoys taking time to explore Wisconsin’s beautiful parks, no matter the time of year.
Matthew Jakubczak joined our firm as a paralegal in October 2024. He is pursuing legal studies and paralegal certification at Milwaukee Area Technical College, with a minor in business management. Matthew is actively involved in organizations such as Learners for Lawyers, MKE Legal Action, and Feeding America, highlighting his commitment to community service and advocacy.
His passion for criminal defense stems from a desire to support individuals during challenging times. Dedicated to assisting attorneys and clients, Matthew emphasizes care, attention to detail, and a strong belief in justice.
A lifelong Wisconsin resident, Matthew enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and rock climbing, and in his free time, he enjoys cooking and making music.
